Making Waves at Horne Lake
This summer, I had the joy of photographing Cianna and Dane’s Horne Lake engagement session. Horne Lake is located northwest of Qualicum Beach, and it’s a great location if you’re planning your next Vancouver Island camping trip.
These two spend a lot of time at their family cabin on the lake every summer, so it’s an extra special location for them. I always recommend choosing a location that is meaningful to you as a couple; it could be where you got engaged, went on your first date, or simply a place you spend a lot of time together. Not only will you feel a little more comfortable in a place you already know and love, but it’s also fun to celebrate the places that are part of your story together.
We kicked off Cianna and Dane’s engagement session with a boat ride to an island on Horne Lake, and started our photos there. We had beautiful weather and perfect sunset light! After running around the island for a bit, we hopped back in the boat to make our way home. But first, I captured a few drone photos overhead, and we took some photos of Cianna and Dane hanging out on the boat with the setting sun behind them. We capped off the engagement session with a celebratory champagne toast.
I had so much fun during this engagement session and I’m so excited to capture their wedding day next summer!
