A Fall Family Lifestyle Session
Today on the blog, I’m stoked to be sharing this adorable family lifestyle session! I’ve worked with the Kitchen family several times, starting with a maternity session when Monica was pregnant with Matthew. It’s been so much fun to watch this family grow! I love working with repeat clients (particularly when kids are involved) because we already have a rapport established so we are able to jump right into those emotive, candid shots.
For this session, it was a stunning, warm evening in Fall. We met at Moorecroft Regional Park, one of my favourite locations in Nanoose Bay. It’s usually very quiet there, and gets fantastic light during golden hour. With forest trails and a lagoon by the ocean, there is no shortage of Vancouver Island backdrops to work with. We spent an hour exploring the trails and the rocky shoreline. With kids, I like making family sessions a fun, relaxed walk in the park. When they can explore and enjoy themselves, the candid photos showing their personalities come so much easier (and these two kiddos are FULL of personality!).
Pets Welcome!
Of course, Wesley the weiner dog came along for the ride. He is the first baby of the Kitchen family, and I love when he tags along for their sessions. Seeing his bond with his human siblings melts my heart and I love that I can capture those memories!
Spring is the perfect time for family photos!
