A Helicopter Elopement Adventure
I am so excited to share more photos from Jefferson and Erica’s helicopter elopement… in other words, once again this has proven to be the coolest freaking job ever. Originally, these two had planned a backyard wedding with lots of guests. Unfortunately, due to COVID, they had to start downsizing the guest list. In the end, they decided to forgo the more traditional wedding they had planned and chose something a little more adventurous instead.
Every part of this experience was incredible from start to finish: the views, the adventure, the people. We flew out of Campbell River with West Coast Helicopters to a secret, secluded beach. J + E said their vows in front of a very small group of their closest family, and then after some portraits overlooking the mountains and Discovery Passage we hopped back into the helicopter.
The pilot took us on a tour at sunset over Campbell River and Quadra Island, and I think we all gained a whole new appreciation for Vancouver Island and its surroundings. We saw dolphins and humpbacks from the air (that’s two weddings in a row with whale sightings – for a whale-obsessed girl like me it’s been a career highlight). J + E got to soak in their first few hours as husband and wife in the air… talk about being on cloud 9!
I highly recommend a helicopter elopement if you’re into the idea of an adventurous wedding. Of course, message me on my contact form below if you want a photographer to capture the ride!
